Mf50a tlb

I just bought a 1971 MF50A TLB. I'll post some pics of it soon. I received an owners manual with the tractor. One of the things I was wondering about which isn't addressed is the weight capacity of the front end loader. It's a ** factory loader and the tag says it's a Model 300. Any help would be appreciated as there doesn't seem to be a lot of info about the ** industrial tractors on the internet. Thx.

mf50a Hi: I have a MF50a. The loader can lift a fair bit. It should lift around 5000 lbs. Maybe more if things are all good. It is limited by some sort of relief valve that can be adjusted. My mechanic friend adjusted it up, but of course then the cylinder seals starting leaking, about $300 a cylinder to fix. Chris

Most of the 50 series would/should lift 2 ton ............wouldn't recommend it now on a 40year old machine...................................

hydraulic fluid goes in loader where hand controls are. the hydraulic fluid goes in near the controls for the front loader . sitting in cab , should be on the right , a metal cap about sam size as a salt shaker with a filter in it, it unscrews, has dispstick, use funnel, put in where dipstick is. Manuals should be still availble at a ** dealer, AGCO from Atlanta, Georgia owns ** still (i think) so search for AGCO dealers also. They have nice full parts manuals for 1 - tractor, 2 - loader 300, 3- backhoe 50 , and services manuals for those 3. They also have a nice little owners guide that worth getting. My dealer in Guelph, Ontario, Canada can get stuff from Atlanta in 1 day if needed it, or a few days (no charge shipping)

i just bought one of these this past year, and had a question about the rear diff. I was guessing it is the lever on the right hand side, it seemed to be seized, so i sprayed the bottom pivot with pb blaster. seems to move a bit now, but still doesnt lock in. any suggestions? also, it recently started making a grinding/squealing sound with any function on the FEL, and the FEL doesn't seem to have much power anymore. Thanks for any help.

locking rear differential Yes that's the lever on the right. Mine did work , but doesn't work as well now. It tends to pop out of lock position. A farm dealer once told me to be careful or you could do damage to the whole thing and might wreck the regular driving. Anyway , I have to fool with it abit to get it to go in. I move the tractor forward very slow just a little bit an try and get it to go into gear. It tended to need to find the right spot to go into lock position. Good luck, be careful.
