Two things I could say off the top of my head. First you need to remove the Torque Converter then flywheel. Then depending on the style of seal retainer you may be able to get the seal out and a new one pressed in from the back. Otherwise you might want to drop the oil pan and remove the seal retainer to get the seal out. There is a slight chance you could remove the seal retainer with the pan in place but would be a bit tricky to get it back on and get the pan gasket to seal under it. Also if this torque converter is running in a wet flywheel application like the old Hough loaders then the flywheel housing may also have to come off. I you have the engine no. for the Cummins it might be possible to tell more from Cummins online parts info. As to the "slobber hose" any chance of a picture? And any idea of what kind of "oil" it is?

i think those Cummins are 1 piece matter of fact i know they are. Secondly if you remove the fw housing which you shouldn't have to unless of course that's whats leaking you have to use a dial indicator to get them back on in alignment as Cummins didn't use dowel pins on some engines to align the cover. Dont let this scare you really its not that bad, a guy can use a caliper too to align it by measuring from the crank shaft to the seal housing bore.... as for the converter they have a converter drain hose that should be connected to the transmission as any converter leakage goes through that pipe back to the trans sump. if its "slobbering" trans fluid there should be a hose from the converter to the trans. As kshansen said a picture would help us help you.
