Does anybody know a website or how to look up a us army serial number to retrieve an OEM serial number? I bought a us army allis chalmers hd16 dozer. All I can find on machine is military serial number. Any and all help will be appreciated.
HD16M is basically a HD16DP. AC sold about 865 of them to the military however there is big differences in the hydraulic systems; and I think the 16M runs a turbocharger [17000 engine] whereas the DP had no turbo and 16000H engine; but both still 844 engines. IMHO HD16M would have been a excellent machine to get in the 70s or 80s; parts may be abit of a problem now.
