Hey guys, been googling for days now, machine is losing power. It's a 2005 ec 35 straight Guy I bought it from put an aftermarket fuel pump on... I cant find any numbers on it but it looks like a carter setup. What should my pressure be coming out of the pump? Low pressure? 5-8 Or high pressure 50-70? Going change fuel filters today also
Low pressure . From tank to water separator to lift pump to secondary filter to injection pump. Verify clean steady fuel to injection pump. And yes , that looks like a Carter
That inj. pump needs no more than 8 psi TO THE Inj, Pump INLET.. Any more & you stand the chance of washing the fuel past the insides & flooding the crank case w/ fuel. Ideally u want 4-6psi.. any less & u stand the chance of starving the inj. pump. Gravity is 1-3.. In case there are any questions like, MY machine doesn't have a supply pump on it & its gravity fed.. THATS BECAUSE YOUR inj. pump has a supply pump built in it.. no need for an external one. ALSO, it depends on the fuel tank position.. IF the tank is ABOVE the inj. pump, gravity helps supply the fuel..{1-3psi} You'll rarely, if ever.. see an engine w/ the fuel tank below the inj. pump w/o a supply pump.
Thanks guys. Fresh fuel filters woke her up a little
