rshackleford ยท 2010-12-21 16:31

i asked my rdo salesman to quote me a wing for my JD 772D motor grader. he has quoted me a 2009 little falls machine 12wing. is this the right way to go about getting a wing or should i be looking for a different brand or speaking with some aftermarket guys? thanks.

Not sure what you are asking. I'm not from big snow country so don't know a whole lot about them. I have installed snow wings on truck plows and motor graders. Never really paid attention to who actually made them.

A Falls wing,,,, made in Little Falls Minnesota I believe is what ur saying,,,, if thats the case, then yes. A falls wing is as good as there is.... they will go into a cut, and stay in the cut without kicking out...... only wing I would buy.

Falls is a good wing, the only problem is keeping the slide tube clean on the front mast. The slush and gravel sticks to the mast and when you slide it up and down, it can get full of gunk.:Banghead Dont know if the other wings are the same way being Falls and Champion are the only wings I have run. As for Grandpa, sometimes I have wished that the wing would have kicked out. When you get sideways in the road or worse, in the ditch, u wonder what the hell just happened

If your buying a used wing, try to find out what it came off of. A lot of the wings would take some re-configerating to make them fit right. The Deere C models had narrow cabs and the D has a wide cab. Most of the used wings would be alright as long as they will fit.
