So, what you are doing, is writing something, about some things, that you have bought over the counter ? What's so special about that, you stumped up the cash and it's yours to take a way, so, why write about what you paid for ? Now, if you actually had gone to the bother to hand make them yourself, then, that definitely would be a good reason for a write-up, but what's so special about buying them as a finished item ? I just don't get this lot at all. Maybe somebody out there could please enlighten me, on why you would even bother to do a review, about a finished over the counter product.

Hmnnh, your first post is a kick in the pants for another member? Far as i am concerned, this part of the forum is for models and miniatures, whether bought or made. I don't see any rules that only handmade things are allowed to be shown and whilst this may not interest (or perhaps even offend) you , there are a number of members on this forum who collect models and may be interested in this thread. My suggestion is that instead of dumping on other members you contribute in a more positive way, there are many moderators on this forum, whose job it is to keep an eye on posts and I don't see the word moderator under your name, I see probationary member.

Ahh sorry I was going add that a review of a 'over the counter' product may well be of interest to someone thinking of buying the same model, also consider that 99% of the machines discussed on this forum are over the counter (or at least off the dealers yard) machines and there is loads of reviews about them.

Caterpillar 660 Athey Coal Hauler [CCM 1:48] Past week I received from America this latest addition in my collection and directly took it to the photo set: Caterpillar 660 Athey Coal Hauler This diecast scale model is made in a limited edition of only 750 pieces by CCM in scale 1:48. The model is packaged in a deluxe gift box and comes with a signed certificate. I am now a happy collector in possession of # 125. This model is truly a Champion League finally model. CCM sets with this model the bar higher and higher. Super Class model! Soon I will add more pictures from the model, machine 1:1 and background information in the category Off-Highway Trucks
Caterpillar 583 Pipelayer [Norscot 1:50] – Latest addition This weekend I received this latest addition in my collection and directly took it to the photo set: Caterpillar 583 Pipelayer This diecast scale model is made in a "limited" edition of 5000 pieces in 1997 by Norscot in scale 1:50. 75 The model is packaged in a full color sleeve around the plain white box. The model is actually a makeover Conrad pipelayer with a different package, type designation and metal tracks. The model is actually produced by Conrad as model #2875 and comes with a Norscot finish. Norscot had in fact acquired the rights to produce Caterpillar scale models and started releasing a series of reissues Ertl, Conrad and NZG models. Never the less I still would add this scale model to my collection. I am now a happy collector in possession of #717. Hey does anyone out there have any suggestions on wheel/tire replacements for the 1/25th scale gescha 950 loader!? Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader [Custom 1:48] This Christmas weekend I visited one of my best friends and fellow Caterpillar scale model collectors and took home the latest addition in my collection and directly took it to the photo set: Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader The Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader is a "one of a kind" custom scale model. Ad used for this project a "spare" Caterpillar 272C Skid Steer Loader which has been released by Classic Construction Models in a limited edition of only 200 pieces. The model is hand crafted from brass in 1:48th scale. He modified the Wheeled Skid Steer Loader version into a Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader version and added (as he always does -)) tons of extra details including a scratch built Caterpillar BR172 Brushcutter. As you can see it turned into a true masterpiece and a very valuable and unique addition to my Caterpillar collection! Caterpillar 16M [CCM 1:48] Last Friday I received from a very good friend in America this latest addition in my collection made by Classic Construction Models (CCM) and today I was able to take it to the photo set: Caterpillar 16M Motor Grader This die-cast scale model is made in a limited edition of only 800 pieces in 2015 by CCM in scale 1:48 The scale model is packaged in a deluxe gift box and comes with a signed certificate. I'm the happy collector with in possession #118. My first impression: Unique hand-built and very complete scale model and a nice addition in my Caterpillar 16M series. More than well worth the wait! Ad used for this project a donor diecast Caterpillar D4 Track-Type Tractor which has been released by NZG in the 1970's in 1:50th scale. He modified the Track-Type Tractor version into a Caterpillar D4D Pipelayer version and added (as he always does -)) tons of extra details including some scratch built features. But even that was not enough: He made a unique diorama which is a small masterpiece on its own. As you can see it turned into a true museum piece and a very valuable and unique addition to my Caterpillar collection! Caterpillar 621 [NZG 1:50] This week I received this latest addition made by NZG in my collection and directly took it to the photo set: Caterpillar 621 Wheel Tractor-Scraper #122 The Caterpillar 621 Wheel Tractor-Scraper scale model was already since the early years a part of my Earthmoving collection and was so unnoticed for more than thirty years in my possession. With the recent arrival of the Caterpillar 621K Scraper I had to create space in the display cabinet and only then I noticed that the NZG model of age fell apart and had never been complete. That's why I was very happy that I got the opportunity through a collector friend to obtain for a very decent price a mint boxed copy. My first impression: A must have within every Caterpillar Wheel Tractor-Scrapers collection. For me a very valuable scale model because it brings back the good memories of the days I used to attend scale model swap meetings with my Dad. TCC visits Conrad Modelle 2016 Friend, Caterpillar scale model collector and professional photographer Thomas Wilk from TCC Photowork has in addition to his visit to the Spielwarenmesse aka Toy Fair 2016 also made an exclusive (Caterpillar) photo shoot of his visit to Conrad Modelle in Nuremberg. This year one had chosen for the first year at Conrad Modelle to not be present with a booth at the Toy Fair but to invite its business relations to make the trip to the other side of Nuremberg with a luxury shuttle bus for a unique visit to the company. Besides the warm welcome by the family and her staff were of course unveiled all new scale models for 2016 and one was given the opportunity to experience the new Conrad museum, where in numerous showcases with nearly 2000 scale models, is to admire a perfect timeframe of 60 years Conrad Modelle. And as the biggest surprise he brought along the scale model of the Caterpillar 836G CARON Compactor exclusively in this design which as a promotional gift has been built in a very limited number for the Caron Compactor Company from America and never was available for sale. UPDATE! The making of...a Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader The Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader is a "one of a kind" custom scale model. Ad used for this project a "spare" Caterpillar 272C Skid Steer Loader which has been released by Classic Construction Models in a limited edition of only 200 pieces. The model is hand crafted from brass in 1:48th scale. Ad modified the Wheeled Skid Steer Loader version into a Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader version and added (as he always does -)) tons of extra details including a scratch built Caterpillar BR172 Brushcutter. It is our goal for the coming period in the "Making of...a Caterpillar 289C Compact Track Loader" to show you how this custom model has been achieved. Ad will share his building skills through its construction photos with little notes to guide us through his progress. NEWS FLASH! TCC visits 60Conrad 1956-2016 Saturday, June 25th 2016 Conrad Modelle celebrated in grand style the 60th anniversary of the company. Conrad Modelle (previously Gescha) is a German manufacturer of Diecast scale models primarily in 1:50 scale for use both as toys and promotional models by heavy equipment manufacturers. Conrad had the Caterpillar line of construction vehicles starting late 1960s through about 1992, but then the licenses changed over to Norscot. image At the open house to celebrate the 60th anniversary were family, friends, relations and collectors from around the world treated to a huge event in and around the company. Outside were 1:1 examples of the scale models produced by Conrad. Inside there was the opportunity to visit both the museum as well the very rare chance to see the production facility where one could assemble the 60th anniversary model itself. UPDATE! Modelshow Europe 2017 Saturday, March 18th, 2017 the 26st Modelshow Europe was held in the flowerauction "Plantion" nearby the city Ede in the Netherlands. On this special exhibition one could see all kinds of miniatures and model construction projects in the field of earthmoving, cranes and heavy transport. This Modelshow Europe exhibition is unique by its grand design and the only one in Europe. Many collectors and builders showed on the Modelshow Europe their (rebuilt and/or radio controlled) models. Also a wide range of miniatures and related components for the modeller where offered for sale. Ad Gevers staffed with Richard van der Horst, Anton Monshouwer, Huub van Dijke, Gertjan Veld & Jack Schrijen again had a joint stand. Mini Movers together with some members of our "CSVT" group from home and abroad, was present during the entire day in and around the booth. Caterpillar 320D LRR [Custom 1:50] Within our group of Caterpillar collectors are builders who built various custom versions by using standard scale models as a donor for their custom project. So I was lucky to meet on the Model Show Europe 2017 in Ede fellow collector Lorenzo who made in-house, in a very limited edition, a custom upper body of the Caterpillar 320D LRR in 1:50th scale. Caterpillar 320D LRR Hydraulic Excavator This highly detailed custom scale model, made of resin material, is combined with the matching cabin protection and by then using the boom and the undercarriage of the donor Caterpillar 323D Hydraulic Excavator (a 320D is also an option) from Norscot in scale 1:50th will be soon by Gertjan for me transformed into a realistic replica of this "reduced tail swing" machine. Spielwarenmesse 2018 [Diecast Masters 1:50] Diecast Masters is present with a booth at the International Toy Fair aka Spielwarenmesse held from wednesday, January 31 up to February 4, 2018, in Nuremberg, Germany. UPDATE! The making of... ACCO Super Dozer Custom scale model builder Matteo from Trilex Modelli is making good progress on one of his latest projects: Building a ACCO Super Bulldozer in 1:50th scale. The ACCO Super Bulldozer is the largest and most powerful Track-Type Tractor ever made. It was built in Italy, by the Umberto Acco company. The ACCO super bulldozer was constructed mainly of Caterpillar parts. This bulldozer has a gross weight of 183 tons and is powered by two 675hp Caterpillar engines and has a dozer blade that is 23 ft. Today time for an update with an extra 25 photos added of this "The making of... a ACCO Super Bulldozer" and during the coming period, Matteo will guide you by the complete design and construction process of this unique scale model, and the end result shall eventually, as a real custom builder wants to achieve display the 1: 1 machine as naturally as possible.
