Didn't know if I needed to start a new thread or not. I am trying to remove the hydraulic pump form a 580sl. According to the service manual it should slide out. It's not. I've tried tapping the sides with a hammer. Separating it at the flange with a chisel and wedging a crowbar at different angles to loosen it up. I loosened the bolts on the coupler too. Any tips would be appreciated.
I don't know how to remove this post. I did get it. I just had to hit it a lot harder with a bigger hammer. I usually try to fight my urge to do things this way because I often cause more problems.
