some pics from a 385 i deliverd to a gravle pit in modesto ca.they were going to have a dig off,385 vrs pc 800.i never did go back and get the 385 it must of done the job.the pc800 lasted 2 weeks, it didnt make the cut so i heard [aka cat sales rep].:beatsme
Im surprised they didnt move that on a beam trailer. That looks kinda high sitting on that deck. That must weigh around 160,000lbs or so. Last time I moved a 385 was in the middle of the nite and the operator had to ride in the machine and swing the boom to make it around corners.
LOL that's great :notworthy
very nice new toy!
great pictures!
Nice truck, any more pics of it and what kind of power under the hood?
x2. Lets hear more about your truck!

hey 9axle, don't take this the wrong way, but your trailer's freakishly big :thumbsup
Do you work for Testa or something? He was one of the few aroun dhere with a 385.
Extremely nice lowboy... Wow, you've got yourself a very nice Cozad... Any chance you'll brag about it and give us all the specifics (capacity, # of axles, # of tires, etc.) www.petersfamilytrucking.com If you go on my website, you'll see why I am so impressed with YOUR lowboy... Mine is very old and has a fixed gooseneck.
The Low bed driver went nuts on chaining it down!
looks about right to me. my two cents of course. dosen't look like the bridge in that trailer is flattened out. wonder if thats normal for that type of rig?
No I worked for a company on the south shore and did a 250,000 cy rock job. We rented 2 of them for 4 months. They were like $13,000 a month each. We moved one of them to do a sea wall in a close by town. We got a 90 ton beam trailer and the boom stuck off then end like 10-15 feet That trailer is huge and makes the 385 look small. I have done some work with testa on the big dig. I have seen them move there pc1000 in one piece from one job to the other. I was coming home from a bar one thur nite at like 2-3am and passed it. The trailer was practically dragging on the ground. Another testa story they were doing some demo work in the casting basin on the big dig. The coffer dam was leaking and he had 1 of his machines in the hole. He went down there and built up a pile of scrap metal and got on top of it and then hook up the crane slings and rode in the cab out of the hole. It was a brand new machine and I guess he didnt have insurance on it yet. Beatuiful sight seeing a maniotwoc 999 lifting a 345.
Yeah those Testa guys are wild. I've moved a PC600 whole. They took down the cold storage warehouse near my house. They took the counter weight off the 1250 put it on a flat bed, put the stick and bucket in a dump trailer, which was way over weight, and then moved the rest of the machine on a lowbed in the middle of the day. That's got DOT written all over it.
specs on 9 axle trailer is a2005 cozad triple 16.that is 3 groups of 16 tires,ca and a few other states will give u 60,000 lbs per group.geep is 10 ft wide, main trailer is 11 wide 28ft long.reason for 11ft no need for out rigers for most of my moves.booster 10 wide.overall length 105 tare weight 74,300.payload 174,900.disk brakes all around air go witch keeps all my tires aired up 115psi.money well spent only 1 blowout in 2yrs. exelent tire wear. ill put up more pics so stay tuned.
That is an incredible trailer setup... 175,000 pound payload must bring with it some nice rates! Heck, I'd love to have the small lowboy... I get pretty sick of loading my equipment on my trailer that doesn't breakdown. Thanks for the info.
garbage trailer tipper this was a move from anderson ca to dixon ca .the tipper was doa.so it had to be pushed on :Banghead what a pain! took 2 d8n 1 on each side.u mite think simple but inside of tracks was 11'6 outside of trailer is 11ft.so it stratled the trailer like a beam deck . load was 23ft wide 15'9 high 150,000 lbs had 4 chp escorts 2 pilot cars.took about 3.5 hrs to make move.we were running between 60 65 mph. that way we didnt have to stop so much for traffic to get buy.:cool2
What is that exactly?
it is its a tipper u back a semi trailer onto it drop trailer pull away it lifts up trailer so trash comes out set down rehook drive away.it has 2 other ends that goes onto it to make it comeplete overall its about 90ft long, hope that explaines it:beatsme
ex1200 heres a 1200ex i hauled it was the third load on the trailer i even had to use out riggers to support it.moved it about 50 miles 15'10 high 15'6 wide.
