lots of great knowledge here, i have been lurking for a while and researching and finally bought a loader, 2005 asv rc30 with 744 hours on it. runs great has has been well maintained. i got it from the original owner and cant wait to get some seat time on it. anything i should know or keep my eyes open for on it? i was going to change fluids and switch it to synthetic motor oil and clean it up and touch up the scuffs it has. thanks in advance for a great forum
Syn oil in the hyros will help cold start in the winter , If its motor oil its not going to cost much. I really dont know anything about you machine just pointing out what I was told on my cold start issues. best of luck and wipe that smile off your face your wife will make you sell it if she thinks your spending to much time in it......
thanx for the info. the owner did the reg maintainence so i was going to see when it needs it next fluids changes and plan accordingly. i dont know if it uses motor oil for the hydros or not and will have to find out. i have printed the parts and service manual off the web and put them in a binder and plan to start reading them and gettin more familiar with the machine too. already have a couple jobs lined up too!!!
Keep an eye on the back boggie wheels/rollers. They are prone to seal and bearing failure. Use more grease than normal, as no wear points on this machine are repairable short of expensive machine work. The reliabilty of my 30 has not been great, but it is a flat out performer. Pound for pound the most productive machine I have ran. Have fun !!
that was the first thing i did was take it to the car wash and powerwash the undercarriage heavily and then i let it sit in the sun and dry and greased the crap out of the entire machine as well and spray down the undercarriage with rust inhibitor, i need to remove the old company decals still and touch up the paint in a couple spots but for 7k with 744 hours it was a dam good deal and is in great shape, has the larry lugs on the tracks and both tracks are near new
