I traded my old D4 in on another, a couple years older but in much better shape but i have to switch over the canopy and all the hydralics for the blade.
A labor of LOVE!!!!!!!!!
Yea, lots of it...... every vehicle shown needs work and i'm a month behind getting ready for irrigating.
Just move to the west side of the state and you can forget about irrigating and play in the rain all day.
Nice project. Thank you for sharing. What is a 1940s D47U is worth (average fair price here in Oregon - or anywhere in the USA) re-done? Know of one with direct start, five roller model (not sure what that means but made a big point of it so would know is special), new tracks, new rollers, rebuilt engine, winch, hydraulic blade with manual tilt? How does a five roller D47U compare to a regular D47U - what is the difference? Does a 5-roller have a longer or wider track or is it just another roller has been added somewhere for a special reason? Can anyone compare a five roller D47U to a 1960s D4D, which is more familiar here? When did D4s have pony motors? Logged with a pony motor D4 to make a vineyard for someone paying me but not sure what year it was (never pushed with it as roads were already there, so only used it for its winch to pull logs and worked alright for that as the trees were not overly huge).
Couldn,t believe my eyes there to start with. a mk3 Landy is the US of A. they must be as rare as rocking horse poo in the states ! Not to mention the ribbing you must have got from your neighbours buying a 4x4 from pomland ! yeah and make a great restoration job, got 1 myself Merv
