Recently i have bought a cat 320D excavator(used). Serial:CAT0320DEFAL10846. I am new on this excavator. Can any one give me the service manual and fault codes.
That is a big ticket Manual that is probably only going to come on line or from a dealership. Good you at least posted the serial number. Simon C
Try eBay for manuals. I have had good luck.
The Sevice Manual, which will also contain a section for troubleshooting Fault Codes, is Cat Publication reference KENR6620. New it is priced at US$1,420 in paper form or $1,000 in pdf format on a CD.
Could pay for itself with one service call saved. Simple math for me. Plus you have at your disposal at 10 o'clock at night to do some research yourself. Simon C

For a start they are all Logged Codes/Events. Were there any Active Codes.? The Logged Codes are as follows:- 39-167-12 Alternator charging sensor. Frequency below norma.. 39-168-5 Alternator output current below normal. 39-598-5 Travel speed solenoid. Current below normal. 39-598-6 Travel speed solenoid. Current above normal. 39-1160-5 Hydraulic Lockout solenoid. Current below normal. 39-2300-9 Machine ECM not receiving information from Switch Panel. E0043-2 Damper on A/C unit not responding properly to commands.

Need help. My repair man said i have to replace the machine ecm.So, i found two used ecm but the problem is that those are cat 324D and cat 336D. My machine is cat 320D (CAT0320DEFAL10846). The repair man said those model are same. But i can’t trust him so i need your opinion. Is it safe to buy and install them. Your ECM Part Number of 221-8874 is cancelled and replaced by Part Number 366-8821. See attached article SEPD1375. So the ECM that you want to buy is an updated Part Number compared to the one that is installed in your machine right now. Now the subject of the software. What you have now is 383-5388, which updates to 435-2635. See SEPD1668. The 324D and 336D will use different software compared to the 320D, so the replacement ECM will need to be reflashed with the 435-2635 software. As it is a Machine ECM and not an Engine ECM I don't think you should have too much difficulty doing this, although I may be wrong. To do the re-flash will require Dealer ET and a copy of the 435-2635.fls software file.

Why change the ECM ?
According to Post #9 the OP states that the "repairman" working on his excavator says the Machine ECM is bad. According to SEPD1375 it appears as though there were problems with the 221-8874 P/N.
A question comes on my mind. If I bought the 324D or 336D ecm, is the 383-5388 or 435-2635 software support on those machine ecm.
One Part Number of ECM (366-8821) can support literally hundreds of different Part Numbers of machine software. You have to ensure that the appropriate software for your 320D machine is installed into it. If the software was not correct for the machine it could cause all sorts of problems.

Sir Recently i have bought used two unit cat 320D machine. The serial numbers are CAT0320DEFAL10846 and CAT0320DEFAL10250.Can you give me the details of those machine like manufacturing year. Where it’s manufactured etc.
FAL10250 - December 2012 FAL10846 - July 2013 If you look in the bottom RH corner of each machine data plate it will indicate the country of manufacture.

Sir. I have a cat 311C u. Serial is cat0311CPCLK02666. The problem is all function are fine but the left travel is weak. I don't have any electric schematics and pressure test configuration. What are the pump pressure, pilot pressure I don’t have any idea. Can you help me?
