Need assistance with an electrical issue here. All of the local dealers are gone and the closest is 4 hrs away so I have to figure this out myself. New Holland L-175 with 2500 hrs never had an issue until today. Unloaded a semi full of palms without issue turned machine off, sat for 1/2 hr started up, ran for two minutes than shut off. Opened fuse panel, blown 15amp fuse (wiper/crankcase pic on cover for that fuse). Replaced fuse started up ran for 15 sec than snap/died. Traced the wiper wire found a chafe area, cleaned up and fixed that issue. Replace another fuse ran for 20-25 sec snap/dead again. Seat switch seems fine, starter is strong, battery is almost new. Recently replaced fuel lift pump and seems fine. Almost seems as if there is a censor open to ground but since all our manuals are with a maintenance mechanic that is on vacation in New York until the end of the month I'm in trouble here. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Ron:Banghead
Never mind, figured this one out. 4-6ga wire leading to fuel inj rail was factory crimped with the insulation inside the ring terminal. The bundled wire was trying to find ground through the insulation after several of the soldered ends broke. Anyway tried it with a smaller 10 amp fuse and no snaps. Only 6hrs of my day. Cheers.
