It's not a major concern because it stays on my property but my 580D will not shift into 3rd and 4th. The guy I bought it from said he thought it was bad synchros. Does this sound right, and how tough a job would it be to fix? Can it be done in the machine or would the trans have to be dropped?
If your just using it around your property i would not worrie about it most of the time you will be in 2nd 3and4 are only for roading . If you can deal with it going 8 mph insted of 15 or 23 i would not bother with it .my old 580c had a bad forth gear would go good then just slowly die never could figure it out but i just never wanted to put more money into it .
