Looking for a little help, the company I work for has a Norberg CT80 jaw crusher serial #1183. Our mechanic is not finding a lot of info on it. He’s been calling dealers up and down the east coast and has been told several times “that’s an old one, don’t know much about them,,,,” Machine sits more than it gets used at this point. Was planning on crushing some concrete and brick in the yard so went over and checked all fluids, turned key, idiot lights came on, turned key to crank, typical “click” and machine turned over and started, walked to the shop, came back out, machine was not running. Idiot lights on, tuned key off, back on, idiot lights came on, turned to crank and nothing. Let me just state, I am not a mechanic, not good with electrical so forgive me from here on out. Our mechanic checked relays, fuses, batteries are good, wiring, followed wiring diagram, used a power probe and can get the machine to crank with the power probe. So wondering if anyone has any suggestions. He is also wondering if the start stop solenoid is powered to run or powered to stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Seeing as it appears to be an engine-related problem, information regarding what make/model of engine it has might be good information.
Thanks for the reply Nige.
On the basis of that photo I'll leave it to the Deutz specialists.
Our mechanic is thinking it is not an engine issue but a system issue with the crusher not letting it crank. He’s tested all relays, confirmed they were good, all fuses good, still can’t get it to crank.
