My tier 3 2011 john deere 333d is making a vibration and audible change at 2000+ rpms - all at a complete stand still after being warmed up.. i don't know if it is engine or pump related. It does not smoke or have any odd issues.. no overheating... throws no codes... It almost seems like a misfire or imbalance. Could harmonic balancer be bad? Plugged fuel filter? Stuck injector? Where should i start?
Stop revving it at a stand still.. and get to work.. lol
Yes, yes, and yes, pick one? Have you run the valves, you might have a tight one in the bunch if you have some hours on it. Turbo is another possible.
motor does not have a harmonic balancer. looks like it has some white smoke when i give it throttle - could be stuck injector??
Rev the engine till you get vibration and smoke, hold throttle in that position.. Loosen an injector line, 1 at a time and look and listen to the smoke/engine rpm.. and tighten it back and move to another cyl.. Once you find the cylinder that doesn't change sound as much as the others OR the smoke goes away when you loosen a specific line.. You found a suspect cylinder.. could be valves, injector.. and any # of things.. but atleast you narrowed it down..
I just looked up the schematic and the unit inj. is under the valve cover.. so my previous suggestion is no good.
what about the feeder lines to the injectors
Pump coupler?
TO close this out... Had jd rep confirm that the audible change was just the normal sound of the 5cylidner engine... There was no white smoke witnessed - video i took was made when water was still in talepipe. Machine runs good
Glad is was only a phantom there.. and thanks for the update, many seem happily wander off once things are better, then people who answered trying to help or simply watching wonder what happened, I suspect.. Have a great weekend there and enjoy your machine!!
