Off to auction… Ford CF7000… Have 1999 IHI9200 C12, 13 speed 4.33, diff lock, with small trailer; is legal here (with air brakes endorsement) and allows decent highway speed/fuel economy. Allows hauling of our small equipment. Engine of deck truck: Brazilian 6.6l (170hp!)….70km/h up Kamloops hill. But with new Bosch injectors I put in 3 years back fires up immediately! These (were acquired brand new from Ohio for $300!! New in boxes!) So realized the flatdeck hasn’t been used since last year…time to go! Ritchie Bros. Kamloops (Big sky). Left at 4:30 am from home. Wife swamped me out… Will see what auction brings! Side note: took air brake course at age 50…would have appreciated Truck Shops tutorial! Good on him to educate younger generation! My buddy; 20 years my senior was convinced (by me to also take course). Instructor was very good, but talked of ‘sharks’ this I later found out (during Cvse audit in Kamloops) was the coroner….dump truck had adjusted brakes wrong way and had devastating run away on Columbia street. Chains & repair manual included on sale. Will post result!
