old grove a frame jib

stumper120 ยท 2013-07-16 21:11

one of my workers forgot to properly replace the cotter pins on my jib pins. the ones that connect the turnbuckle to the boom nose. 4'' long 1.1/8 diameter. I understand how the strength is important to prevent failure so any one else lost and had to replace these? dealer? it is a td522 with a trapezoidal boom.

Are you saying you lost the pins that connect the jib pendant lines to the boom head? If so, check with a wire rope cable supplier if they have a source for replacement pins for those cable ends.

they are the same size as the pins used in crosby wedge sockets (beckets). they are readily available from shawmut eq. and not that expensive- we lost a couple over the years too.

thanks guys. my first call was to Shawmut but it took him a few days to figure out the breakdown and separate the pin vs selling me a whole turnbuckle. got 2 new ones on the way.
