Does anyone know if a case 310 bulldozer diesel engine will fit a case 430 backhoe with a 188 diesel engine. A guy i know has a running case dozer diesel engine and it looks like my engine in tractor. He wants 800 for it. thanks diver
A 188 will have the same bell mount pattern and front mount holes, they were all the same up through the 207s. I have a 530 AG tractor with a 310 engine in it in my shop now. Flywheel bolt pattern is the same also. 800 is a steal if it's a good engine.
kool. he said its a good engine . going to try and get up the money and get it for my backhoe if it runs out fine. thanks
diver looks like your going to try and save the old girl no doubt its a bit of work to swap the motor out but hey if the rest of your tractor is good its probably worth it.Can you post any pics of your rig......lets us know what you come up with heck you might be able to part out your old engine and the rest of the dozer and recoup your $$$ ....good luck...
here the gal is . I posted in wrong section a while ago.. First have to come up with 800.. money is so tight for me right now.. HeavyEquipmentForums
looks like you have a grapple of some sort on the front bucket i bet that comes in handy. If you decide to replace the motor maybe you could put up some pics of the process it would be interesting to see..Do you have any close ups of the grapple?????
I will take a couple in the morning. I made that the first year i got the tractor. Its a godsend when moving large rocks or holding logs up when cutting firewood or grabbing brush. On this property of mine ive added over 3000 yds of fill and this ol tractor moved it all.lol.
cool thanks diver i have thought about doing something like that to mine.I assume you are using a hyd cylinder to run that if so how did you hook a aux valve just curious.....
I put a 30 gal per minuet valve inline with the main valve to the cylinder on grapple. . I will try and post a pic tomorrow . Now my ol loader has the look of many hard years, kind of like me lol
Yea when they get this old i think you would be hard pressed to find one that doesnt show its age .....But theres a reason there still around like you said 3000 yds moved with that old girl at last count there were over 300 trees from huge to tiny including stumps removed from my property with these old girls and they just keep going.I go nuts when mine is broke down thats why i did all the stuff to mine this winter to give her another 45 years of hard work i hope anyways... If you decide to change engines im sure you will need to get some stuff for it i have a guy that i have been using that one of the guys on the forum turned me onto .So if you need a place to get parts at a fair price and he ships right to your house. He is also very knowledgeable about these old girls and very helpfull like that...Just let me know if you want his name and contact info he came highly recommended to me and i feel the same after dealing with him.....
here is a couple of pics of grapple. Had to add a 4x4 3/8 steel tube to keep it from tearing bucket up. I really underestimated the power of hydraulics
nice job diver that has to be real handy for a lot of different stuff and yea those hydraulics have some real power definitely needs to be strong steel when doing stuff like this... Thanks for putting up these pics and i see you have the white stuff like we do right now cant wait for it to be over were at 25* right now and supposed to be getting down to 11* thank god for woodburners..... Looks like you still have the ol abe bird still flying on that one of yours between the headlights i hear thats kinda tough for them to still be there heck i didnt even know they existed until i got schooled by a guy on here named 1968 case ck. So i had to put one on after all the work i did on mine....
the ol gal was much nicer when i got it. 4 years of outside has done it shame. Heck i never noticed it lol till now. We had a fairly mild winter this year. most snow was gone up till last week. I almost started the head sunday , now glad i did not. I just can talk the wife into letting me buy the engine . She wants me to pull the head and check mine first but now its soooo cold
Might not be a bad idea to do some troubleshooting on yours first as it might be something fairly easy to fix when the weather cooperates.....
yep but you and i both know that he who snoozes loses . But i cant get that past her ear
Yea that would suck if that dozer disappears and you found out you needed it.I have told my wife she will recoup the $$$$$ later as she can use mine to dig my hole when its my time which may come sooner than later if i keep spending $$$$$ on this old girl... ointhead:falldownlaugh
well got a text from the man today that engine is sold. Oh well i hope i can repair this one under 800 bucks
hopefully yours can be saved.I see them come up on craigslist where guys are parting out whole rigs now and then.......
