My uncle has a gel skid steer with a ford 1.1l engine in it. He has a bad distributor and we cannot seem to find either a rebuild kit or a new distributor. Apparently they quit making them. If anyone has any info that could help our problem it would be greatly appreciated
Gehl I am sorry auto correct
Any further information on the engine, or distributor number?
Ford industrial 1.1 liter motor. Distributor number is ford part # 86BF12100BA
Delco remy part # DRD6129 for the distributor. I can find these part numbers all over the Internet but no where to actually purchase one
I assume you tried ebay?? If you don't see one, try searching 'completed' auctions, shoot the seller an email if you find one. They might still have it. What's exactly wrong with the distributor?
Apparently Ford Kent engine, manufactured in England with a Lucas 41920 distributor (made by Delco for Lucas?). Some parts are still available. Should be a VSG 411 engine? Also used in New Holland early L454, bobcat 542B, lots of generators, sweepers, manlifts, forkllifts. Might find a good used one out there somewhere. Possibly of use: https://www.gciron.com/JLG_Parts_7014682_TUNE_UP_KIT_FORD_VSG_411_p/7014682.htm
Shaft and bushings are wore out on this distributor. Had an excess of 30 thousands in play. Appears oil groove plugged and it ran dry for some time
You might be better off looking for a good local machinist, to re-bush the old dist...
There is a Ford Kent distributor on ebay right now for $50 brand new Mallory. The after market speed shops sell them for $200 and up. Good luck. SimS
