I was quoted about $8500 today just for parts for an inframe thru my local Freightliner dealer, up from $5800 since Friday. They didn't have my serial number then, so quote went up nearly $3000??? It's in a 2006 Freightliner Columbia with 640K on the truck and original engine. What options do we have: Scrap it, rebuild ours and have way more in it than the truck is worth, put another brand engine in it, or try to find a GRTO? What would you do? Of course I'm gonna try other places for a rebuild kit quote, but there's no aftermarket parts available for these engines yet. They're just day cabs but we use them every day for around 100 miles or so.
