Just when you think the 140m is starting to earn its keep, just after we replaced the heui pump and injectors which we were tormented by injector failure for some time, among other things, the turbo blew, at alittle over 5ooo hours, i have close to 10000 on my 140h not one engine problem, what a long list of troubles we have had with this 140m.:Banghead
I know it's too late but have someone look at the operation of the wastegate cylinder, operating linkage, & hoses - I've seen plenty of those wastegated turbos either seize the wastegate cylinder, the wastegate operating linkage, or blow the hose between the compressor housing and the operating cylinder due to heat from the turbine housing. The result is the same either way, if the wastegate can't open the turbo is likely to be drastically overboosting and it could produce other engine problems further down the line.
That was an issue the wastegate linkage seized early last year we caught it before it became a problem, same thing happened on one of our 6 wheel drive trucks which is housing a cat, the turbo was blowing oil out around the manifold gasket, also a chaft hose, you could move the turbo impeller in and out around a inch of play, new turbo on the way, should take 4-5 days to get the new one, this is the busiest time of year for us shaping up the back roads. thanks
