Can anyone tell me if I need to cut relief holes in my pads for pushing snow. Just bought a Case 450 dozer without the relief hole. My D4D had holes cut should not have sold it. Just wondering how important it is. I see some with and some without? Thanks David
Cold dry snow you're probably okay, wet snow will pack hard and bind on the sprocket teeth I think.
If you start to experience problems with snow packing between the chains and directly underneath the track shoes then yes the shoes need trap holes cut in them. Otherwise no.
