I am looking to get a small excavator, looking seriously at pc-28 and pc38u. they have an offset boom feature. I like the smaller size as I find myself doing smaller jobs where the backhoe is not practical. I like the light foot print as well. I know the size will depend on what jobs I will be doing, but leaning towards the smaller unit. Looking for any advice.
The 38's are more popular, I run a 28 size (Hitachi) hoe and it's just too small to get that extra bit of reach when I am digging a trench or general digging and I always need more lift capacity for pipe work.
