Hi folks- bit of a last ditch effort to try to get our excavator working- unfortunately some wiring got damaged by a previous owner, the stepper motor has two plugs coming out of it - triangle and square, the triangle is fine and connected; the square plug is completely gone on both ends so we have 4 wires but the colours from each end (harness vs throttle stepper motor ) are not the same and I’d rather not break it... tried just connecting the black and black and red and red, but that leaves white/green/dark green/yellow and no combination works- stepper just sort of pulses regardless of the combo...does anyone have a pic or wir8ng diagram showing what colour goes where?
Good day Daniel Not sure if this helps from a dash 6 Kind regards Uffex
Do you know where and how to read the diagnostics on the throttle control computer? There are three lights in a row. The middle light is green and the two outside ones are red. It may be that controller is foo bar. Here is a video showing the location and lights on a PC400. They might be in a different location on a PC120.
Here you are friend. Good luck.
Hi folks thanks for the replies, really appreciate it, LACHAU thanks for the diagram - is there any other version? I’m attaching a couple of pics, the grey cable goes to the machine, the black goes to the governor... my colours don’t seem to line up with the diagram.... any thoughts?
If you look directly at the inlet end of the female side connector the pins are line up like this. Number one is the right side upper with the locking latch socket on top. Number two is to the left of that. Number three is below number one and number four is below number two. My PC400 book shows the white wire going into number four. The red wire goes into number three. The green wire is number two and black is the number one. I don't know where your yellow wire in the photo goes. Komatsu was bad for differences in harnesses by serial number and destination countries where the machines were supposed to end up. A serial number might help.
Hi john - serial attached unfortunately the original plug is gone on both ends...
Alternatively could anyone point me toward locating the wiring block numbered 1-8 in lachau’s diagram - and I could hopefully work backward...
Machine was not meant for the US. I don't have a book for it so Mr. Lachau is the best source of info. Good Luck!
I suppose that your machine wiring is not genuine one!! So I suggest that you should make a new wiring from "GOVERNOR MOTOR" to CONTROLLER. That is easy, simple and fast way. By the way, you can check to find out what wire for phase A coil or phase B coil by Ohm meter. As you can see the image below. Black-Green is Phase A. Red-Yellow is phase B.
