When i turn the key on all the lights on the monitor flash rapidly and the buzzer sounds like a machine gun unloading. The machine starts and runs fine all normal functions work , but all functions on monitor panel , like travel speed , dig mode Etc . Don't function . Any ideas where to start ? No blown fuses or other issues. Shut off one day working fine , next time started to use it and this happened . All help appreciated . Andy
What do you mean by they do not function, there is no light or you cannot change the mode when you press a button?
The whole monitor blinks constantly making all functions unavailable.
seems like you are having electric contact problem, there is two connector on the back of the monitor so check if they are loose or rusty, try to clean them with special spray and test again
Connections good , still no fix
Well if connection is good all you have to do is changing the monitor
Is there any way to test monitor unit alone ?
jey_c is right in that is probably the quickest way to be sure that the problem is in the monitor or the wiring in the machine. However it is an expensive way to troubleshoot. I don't know of anyway to check the monitor on its own. Usually there is a problem in the wiring harnesses between the computer and the monitor. I would start by pulling out the operator's seat and all the panels on the right side of the cab. The fuse panel sometimes gets corrosion on it and you end up with a bad connection. Check out the wiring that you can see for rodent damage or operator stunts such as hooking in a heater or radio. There are some grounding straps at the back right side of the cab by the computer also. In that area is also a bunch of diodes that are taped to the harnesses. These kinds of issues are sometimes easily found and fixed but I haven't ever been lucky enough to have them end up that way. Usually it takes me a day or so to understand what is happening and find the problem.
Ya i agree 2100 ouch . But voltage at the plug is correct 24v and ground ohms out good . Wish i had an extra machine to swap it in and narrow my search .
gave up and got new monitor 1800.00 bucks , plugged in and click problem solved . old board had a irreparable short . thanks for the replies though.
