Good day! Im new to the heavy equipment industry, I just bought a PC60-7 and the problem is after i swing the joystick and back to neutral it stops suddenly and hard. Im afraid it will damage the swing motor pinion and ring gear. Is it just the relief valve? How can i adjust it and or what is the problem. Thank you.
Post up the serial number and some folks who know a whole lot will come along shortly. I will venture that the swing brake function that is built in to the swing motor is malfunctioning.
Thanks, i hope you can help me with this guys. Serial No. 00474
Serial No.
Good day Is the fault when you slew in both directions? Any history prior to the problem? Kind Regards Uffex
Hello, Uffex! I will take a video tomorrow so you guys can see the problem. Its late night here in philippines. Thank you! @uffex
Swing motor come loose and bolts are bend because its loose. I repaired elongated bolt hole and put new bolts still there is flank play but my main concern is its stops hard and sudden thats why swing motor will come loose and im afraid it will damage the pinion and ring gear. By the way there is some damage in ring gear but i think not too much.
Good day I would share your concern and suggest that you pull the ring, I know that is a big job but may save you in the long run. Kind regards Uffex
This is the video. Is this very alarming? Can i still use the machine? Thank You
Good day Link is missing
Hello, Uffex! Can i send it thru email? Cant send video file here. Regards
OK check your PM Regards Uffex
You should check carefully and adjust to decrease the pressure of "SAFETY VALVE with SUCTION" .
Thats great do you have the schematic you can post
Good day It may be a good idea to check what pressure if the valves have been adjusted, if the valves have not been disturbed you may have an issue with the parking brake drain. As I interpret the post to mean this issue arrived when the motor became loose or is this the cause? Kind regards Uffex
Please check PM. I have just sent shop manual to you.
Good day The schematic shows a brake which is manually activated, with voltage the brake does not apply, it is doubtful that this can be the cause of the issue. Checking the relief pressure would be my suggestion to establish if the level is at specification. Kind regards Uffex
Good day, Lachau! Can you help me identify where is the safety valve with suction? And how to carefully adjust it? Thank you
Is relief pressure and safety valve with suction thesame? As said by lachau? Thanks
Hello, Uffex! I think the motor became loose because of this issue. Because it brings so much stress in the pinion and ring gear.
OMG!!!!! That is swing motor type which's installed to PC60-5 or PC-6 not for PC60-7!!! PC60-7===>Swing motor is LMF40AB-2. PC60-6===>swing motor is KMF40AB-2. PC60-5===> swing motor is KMF40DL. Note that the KMF40 series can also be installed on PC60-7.
Funny question. The figure below is a verbatim quote from the Komatsu repair manual, but there is an errors! Please point out the mistake.
OMG. But this swing motor is okay with pc60-7 right? @LACHAU .
Can you teach me how to adjust the safety valve? How many turns or small turn clockwise or counterclockwise. Thank you
@Luchojry : You should try to turning counter-clockwise little by little. Pay attention to adjust both sides. Just adjust and try to see if stopping the swing operation is effective or not. If you don't see any effect then you have to disassembly those valves to check, it may be stuck, clogged.
Okay. Should i loosen both lock nuts and adjust it at thesame time? After adjusting i'll turn on engine and try it right? Thanks, Lachau
Hello, @LACHAU ! I just did it. It has any effect now. But im afraid to adjust more in right swing because i turn it 1 and 3/4 rev already while left 1 and 1/4. Is it just too much?
