PC75-UU final drive

JBGASH ยท 2019-02-27 00:43

The final drive leaks oil out of the outer cap. The outer cap is tight against the large O-ring seal. Anyone know why or what to do to fix this problem? Thx

Good day Is that fluid correct for the Hydash drive or is hydraulic fluid being past into the planetary ? Kind regards Uffex

Uffex, I am unsure on that, if it is hydraulic fluid would the planetary be way over full after use?

Yes, it would fill to the point that it has to go somewhere, usually the point of least resistance. I had one on a bobcat mini-ex that built up so much pressure it exploded that outer cover.

Good day As Vtech suggests we guess that should be gear or heavy engine oil inside the planetary if you have Hydraulic fluid the transmission will be overfull and the root cause is likely to be a seal failure of some description Check out the oil it may mean a strip down. Kind regards Uffex

If it's not the problem of overfull hydraulic oil pressurising, have you taken cover plate off and cleaned the sealing faces of rust and dirt and put new o-ring in?

Some slight rust and pitting was causing this cover plate to leak the same as your photo.

No, I have not but will try that first. Thx

First, make sure it's not overfull of pressurized hydraulic oil from leaking shaft seals in the track motor as the guys said above, if it's at normal levels constantly then it's probably the o-ring.
