My ASV pt - 80 is smoking horribly white at high rpm only - smells like unburnt fuel, smokes extremely bad. At low rpm, doesnt smoke at all. machine does not seem to cut out at high rpm though. I just bought the machine and i have not checked the air filters or turbo/turbo-charge piping Please give me some pointers as to where to start
I'd drain the tank, then rinse it and check for junk in the rinsed out stuff, then check the suction line all the way to the filter. Fill with new diesel and try again, if it still smokes, you need the pumpguy...
Depends on what injection pump/fuel system you have, determines how we diagnose it.. What does the white smoke smell like?? coolant or fuel.. Just remember, the fuel required to run the engine at idle is ALOT LESS, than that at full.. so if you have a "lift pump" or supply problem, it normally wont show up til ya, "mash the gas"..
