Perkins Engine Queries: 4.236 & V8 Bell Housing

Hi All Can anyone tell me please, does the 4.236 Perkins (1000 series) bell housing bear / have any similarity to the 540 V8 engine? Also overall engine length; bell housing to front pulley. If anyone knows the 540 comparison to the 4.236 Many thanks in advance. S
