I picked up a 379 standard hood Peterbilt, with a 3406E 475 HP Cat, and a 20k front, with a double frame that is junk. I have considered making this truck a long hood truck considering the frame is being replaced and the current hood is marginal at best. Assuming there is a steering extension needed, and wiring needed, floor plate for shifter, is there something in doing this that is rediculous to do that I am missing? Second, I thought the truck had twin Breathers, but apparently the drivers side is a faux breather. Is this a conversion that can only be done at the factory?
