EZ TRBO ยท 2007-09-16 11:04

Some pics from a project that took place over 3 years for us. Large dairy in southwest Wisconsin. Included another free stall building(600 cows), 3.5million gallon earthen lagoon, flush flume manure system(lots of pipe), bunker slio additions, and a number of smaller projects at other locations to aide in the expansion from 600 to 1200 cows. For equipment, 2 John Deere self loading scrapers(2000 862 and a 1970 860), 2 Dresser TD-15C dozers, CAT 312 excavator, 773 Bobcat skidloader, 331 Bobcat mini excavator, Grove crane(for setting the large manhole 21feet deep), and a Dresser grader for helping maintain the haul roads and grade the borrow area with black dirt. Well for some reason I don't think the picture of the person in the exc. is above a pond, and the ones with the spreaders I don't thnik that is mud.

The pic of me in the 312 bucket is over a pond of sorts, a manure pond. Don't remember why we had to take a grade shot out there but it had somthing to do with the deep manhole we put in right next to it. The photo with the spreaders is the same lagoon, with all the liquid pumped out and into the new one. The farm had been using sawdust bedding since they started(7 years) and they figured they had only goten a very small fraction of it to pump out when they hauled. So after dewatering, we buit a road down into the lagoon and started loading out sawdust. One week(7days) and running from 7 am to 7 pm at the end of November with our 312, a 873 Bobcat with tracks and a New Holland Bi-Directional tractor/loader and 9 large slurry spreader is what it took to clean all the sawdust out. The larger of the two lagoons is rated at 5 millon gallons and the upper and newer one is rated at 3.5 millon gallons. That is rated with a 3 foot headboard, but somtimes they do have them fuller. When i have some more time i will try to explain the flush flume system in detail. It is really a very neat way to handle manure. Trbo
