platform won’t swing 34/22 genie

genie 34/22dc boom lift platform won't swing. have fluid to rotator. when i bleed either of the 2 bleeders platform will swing but other wise it won't move. i took rotator manifold apart and don't see any dirt, etc. in it, blew it out and retried and still no movement. are the 2 valves in the manifold stuck open? working against each other?

Possible that the holding valve is stuck or the rotator helex is bypassing internally. If you bleed it and it works then you have to rebleed the rotator your getting air introduced somewhere

any one taken a rotator apart to put new seals in it? does the top pound off or screw off?

took rotator manifold off. looked at counter balance valves and no dirt visible , blew each out with air. replace the 4 o-rings, 2 on manifold and 2 od fittings, in case leaking air . put back together and no movement even when bleeding. i did not take rotator apart - didn't know how but would like to see inside if seals are broke. please help.

is there any way to test a counter balance valve in a shop?

I believe you would need a test block that it would thread into and a hydraulic supply to test and set it. Have you plumbed a gauge into the oil lines that control the rotator? I used to look after a couple lifts and several bucket trucks that used the same type of rotator. They did not like air in them. When they were getting old especially in the cold weather they were always acting up. Bleeding them usually fixed them for a while.

thank you, do you know how to take the rotator apart to replace seals?
