i have a drive motor #74643gt on my genie z34/22dc that 1 section of the field is burnt/black. is there other sources besides genie, they are backordered. any idea what may have caused the 1 part of field to go out? thank you
Another supply chain issue. Back order all the things. It’s a wonder we can keep anything running today. Bummer about your Genie.
electric forklifts use 48 volt DC drive motors. I've never compared them however.
Find a local Forklift shop that services all makes and model forklifts. They will have access to a aftermarket parts distributor by the name of TVH. They do not sell to the public directly. That's why I say to call a local forklift shop. TVH sells aftermarket parts for all types of aerial and lifting equipment. Keep us posted if that worked out for you.
Is there a brand name or any numbers other than Genie on the motor?
You can try tvh but if the OE doesn't have it they probably wont either. We use thv daily for parts and if jlg/genie has been on backorder so has thv. Genie does a really good job sanitizing suppliers info almost any part they can. I would be surprised if the motor had any info but genie. Its probably a AMD or GE.Depending on your time frame you could send it off to be rewound. Plenty of companies out there who specialize in golf cart motors which is basically the same.. Generally speaking if a sepex motor burns out its a current draw issue. I would pull your cable to the controller and inspect them carefully. Make sure the terminals are tight and cables are not stiff etc. Also inspect the brake on that side and make sure its not dragging to make the motor lumber. Jack it up and put the hub in free wheel and make sure the rotating assy is smooth
i did check with local shop, they said genie didn't have in stock and neither did TVH. it's an Advanced D.C, motors, syracuse,n.y. i think what i may have done was a month ago niether motor would make any sound, so i took armature out and there was rust. i sanded armature ,rotor and fields and put the right armature in left motor and so the F1 and F2 wires would be switched. i don't know if that did it or not. machine is a 2002 but only has 260 hrs on it.
Have you tried to Google the Genie part #? It looks like both TMS and GC Iron show it in stock. Not to say it's actually there but worth a try. Looks to be around $1000.00.
I did try Google but didn't find it. But I'll try what you found. Thanks
Also check ebay
i couldn't find this model on ebay. i also checked on Precision Electric for estimate but no $ figure from them. so i ordered it from GC iron but no confirmation yet. thank you
