Hey guys, new to the site and have a few questions for the experts. If you have to disassemble a link, what do you guys do to lubricate the pin joint after you do the repair in field? Also, are there tools for installing PPR rings or Wedge rings in the field? Thanks for any info.
We pack most with grease, if links and pins look good with good/ new seals will try to fill with oil or pump in grease.
How is best way to disassemble excavator track in field
Depends on the machine and whether you are breaking it at the master link or not.
Thanks for the info guys, are there any other tools you guys use when doing a repair in the field? I was looking at getting a hydraulic torque wrenches (for pads), and maybe a leveler for the pin press.
We use a small engine leveler from harbor freight, you will need to do alot of tracks to pay for hyd wrenches.
