whats the easy way to put the converter out of 955L sn 13x ?
Out the front and drop it, but WHY? ARE YOU TAKING IT OUT? Later Bob
its heat up does wont to cool off and it doesn`t pull under a load . the trans filter has little pices of aluminum
If it kills the engine when you load it the stator has likely broke loose on the splines. Later Bob
thanks bob! it hasn`t got that bad yet but i can`t load dirt with it .i put i new pump in it (what cat say was wrong with it)but it didn`t help it .it moves around great but digging it just stops .but the trans stays in gear.it heats up fast but the motor stays cool i have a new gauge in it.
Sounds like the stator splines have stripped out, that turns a torque multiplier into an engine brake. Hang onto your old pump. Need to watch out for drive spline wear that can ruin a new pump in a week. Check for this when the converter is out drive gear can be turned 180 and use unworn spline. Later Bob
thanks so much bob.can someone let me see some pictures out of the parts or service manual what i`m getting into thanks!! greg
Go to the dealer where you bought the pump, they can print you parts book pages. Basically you drain the hyd tank, take off the pump, then the trans and steering pumps. Lines connected to converter. Take out coupling and flange, then take out bolts at the first joint in the case. Converter should slide off shaft and drop down. Later Bob
bob u are a life saver ty !!wish u were closer i buy u a beer or two!!
anybody ever had a torque converter do this before
Need to check the torque inlet relief valve. Also check the crankshaft end play. Show us pic of inside too please. Later Bob
weres is the torque inlief valve?we sent the torque off to rebuilt.when i go get i .i will get a picture of it .thanks bob u been a big help.
It's inside the trans in the pressure control valve. When we see the parts they may show what happened to the torque. Later Bob
