Hello, I am looking into possibly buying a Case 480E backhoe (1987). It would be used around our small farm. I am having trouble finding any specifications for this machine. How does it compare to the 580E? I read somewhere that the 480 is based on older 580 designs, is this true? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Welcome grump99! The 480E uses much same engine & drivetrain as a 580E, however the loader & hoe are quite alot lighter in design. The chassis design is similar to a 580C. Here's some sales info - 480E - http://www.casece.com/en_in/Equipment/Loader-Backhoes/Pages/480E.aspx 580E - http://murphyused.com/images/specs/523.pdf
Thank you very much! This helps a lot.
