Having trouble getting the rad out. Do I have to pull the oil cooler too? Two bolts in the bottom of the rad we just can't reach. Thanks Ken

Yes leave the 2 together and pull them both out. I usually just take them like that to radiator shop and let them clean the cooler while radiator repairs are being done. And they put them back together for you. Jason

We got her apart. Its just that it looked like the rad should slide right out nice and simple. Had to bite the bullet and take more apart than we figured is all. One thing i like about CAT ( or at least this CAT) is that the bolts are all grade 8 or better. When they are rusted in you can still get them out with wd40 and lots of muscle. Never have to be afraid of snapping them off, or stripping the threads. Nice.

Did you take the side plates with rubber pads out of the rad guard? Later Bob

If i recall right, there were no rubber pads. The rad had some heavy mounting lugs, which took some rubber threaded isolation lugs. Those had to unbolt to get it out.

Iknow it is a pain but, I alway pull the weight and pan. I am sure it can be done with out pulling them. It helps to have a crane to handle the front weight just case it is a tight area to work in.
