anybody ever install a remote camera on end of long reach, tired of having a spotter.i have installed all kinds of backup cameras just want a remote wireless one.who makes the best model??
Any remote wireless camera or 1 that will survive the rigors of earthmoving ?
I'd probably get a cheap one. Buy several, and replace it every time it gets trashed. Maybe put it on a strong magnetic mount, so it's easy to reposition and replace
Orlaco makes small, rugged cameras. Their US sales office is in Georgia. Not cheap, but good stuff designed for the rigors of earthmoving industry never are
Years back I installed one on an add-a-stick on a 1066 koehring that was reaching over a bluff on the river scalding off loose Rock ect. Never had an issue other than the position of the camera took time to adjust. Not the same as a real pair of eyes, but greatly assisted the operator and spotter. Lee
Got any pictures? That 1066 should scale off some nice sized rocks.
Lee I am pretty much doing the same thing, reaching over a bluff, placing and packing in erosion stone in spots that are starting to slip off.
Sorry no photo's, the rig worked very well, the add a stick was 20' and was sized with a 235 cat bucket on the end and a 16X NPK hammer. Lots of reach!.... Even with the hammer there was no camera issues, that worked well also. Lee
