Rockwell 9 speed to 13 speed conversion???????????????????

I have a 97 Pete with a C-12 and a 9 speed. It is a dog, dog, dog. Would there be any value added converting the transmission to a 13 speed. I have heard of this done but is it a waste? All of my hauling is local but it's heavy and alot of hills.
