Can anyone tell this rookie how to visually tell the difference of a standard track under carriage and a bearing style roller or system one or the upgrade with any manufacturer to the double life system? What's the trick to eyeballing it if there is such a thing...? Thanks!
System One has two different kinds of links and the bushings ride on top of the idlers instead of the link rails riding on the idlers. There are two types of bottom rollers that I know of. Retainers at the ends of the roller shafts or collars. The retainer types are attached to the rollers while on the end cap type the roller shaft is bare on each end and sits in a land on the track frame and a cap bolts over the top of it.
Thank you John!
This is Cat's detail advertisement, shows the difference from the old style male/female type links: http://www.finning.co.uk/_documents\Parts\PartsSolutions\Undercarriage\System One Undercarriage.pdf
To me, the quickest way to tell is the skinny idlers on the system one, going in between the rails so the bushings ride on it, not the rails.
Excellent! thank you guys. This was very helpful. Have a great day!
