What could make a new set of rubber tracks walk right off after less than 1hr?

Insufficient track tension or operator error. Are they the correct size tracks for the machine?

Worn idler(s), rollers (maybe), or poor design. I have a stump grinder that falls into the last category, all single flange rollers and a single flange idler makes for somewhat frequent detracking.

Double check that the guide width and height is the same for old and new, that the pitch (distance between drive lugs) is the same. With new tracks there is often some rubber from the mold that get chewed up and spit out in the first few hours, sometimes you need to check the tension often for the first few hours.

Yep. What he said. Make sure all rollers and ilders are cleared of dirt and rocks as well.
