CAN YOU ADD RUBBER TRACK PADS ON 30000# EXCAVATOR?
Short answer is yes. BUT, it all depends on how much work you want to do. Some excavators already have the holes punched in the pads. These are relatively easy, buy the rubber pads and dolt them on. Some machines don’t, not real easy to drill through track pads, much less 4 holes in each pad. I’m pretty sure there are other options too, like pads that get set in top of the existing track pads and then have clips that bolt on from the side to hold them on. I think the longevity of those rubber pads would ultimately depend on what you’re doing with the machine.
Haven't seen any machine where they last very long. They usually wear fast until level with the tops of the grousers and last like that for a couple of years.
