New S175 owner here, bobcat has 200 hours and is 2 years old. Just lost control of the right foot pedal, and the attachment is raised to it's maximum height now. Pedal is unresponsive (feels loose). Anybody have any ideas?
Make sure you put the safety prop on the bucket to support it. Raise the cab and look at where the linkage hooks to the spool this will be on the right side of the machine under the seat. There is a little pin with a cotter pin that attaches it to the spool. Probably the pin fell out and is in the Belly of the machine. JJ
Wow, thanks for the speedy response Hardline. Haven't ever raised a cab before, but to do so means to remove the two bolts located at the front, then simply lift the cab (quickly found on the web). I'll try this and see if I can find the pin your mentioning. It feels like there's a control arm disconnected or something, as the pedal is literally "floppy" now, with no resistance to it either forward or back. Again, thanks for the direction.
I know nothing about bobcat's but foot controls work the same in most machines, if the pedal itself is floppy and you hear nothing else, a pin somewhere has broke or fallen out. Looks like Bobcat runs long linkage arms back to a control valve so if you aren't hearing linkage flopping, my bet would be the bolt/pin on the pedal itself. We used to go through a pile of them for the bucket pedal on the NH machines, always shaking buckets out. Started to just put hair pins in them as they were quicker and easier to replace(hitch pin style not gf/wife style). Here's a thread that may be of some help to you. HeavyEquipmentForums
Welcome to HEF Dsm. :drinkup I agree with others, you've probably dropped a pin that connects the pedal control arm to the valve spool.
foot control or acs? assuming this is an M series machine? :drinkup
