Good morning all, Ive got a 15 S590 I was out in the yard working on digging out stumps when all of a sudden i have no hydraulics and error code 5014 comes up. machine only has 1060 hrs on it. I researched and it said low hydraulic pressure charge. Any help. Im kinda burried in my back yard and really cant pull it out. is there a way to get it at least up to my driveway or is it dead until something is fixed.
This is from the Bobcat website. I don't know anything about the repair of the cause.
Was it 0514 code by chance and not the 5014? If it was the 0514 i'd check the hyd pump drive belt and tension. I'm old so I invert #'s sometimes. Just my .02 worth
yes my bad, its 0514, and then 0515 when it shuts down, i was running the machine at about half throttle, i don't suspect that would harm anything. How does one go about checking the belt or tensioner, i know where its located behind the cover, but how exactly do i check the tensioner to see if its good or not?
You can pull the positive battery cable, then the cover. Do a visual check of the tensioner to see if the rubber is breaking down and try to move the belt / flywheel to see if the belt slips. Low hyd fluid will cause the same issue but usual you'll hear the pump cavitating when that happens.
If the belt is tight and the tensioner ok, this thread has more infor that may help you. HeavyEquipmentForums
There is a formula for deflections both for chain and belts. Belts are 1/64 deflection per inch of running distance between two pulleys. The amount of force to create the deflection changes depending on the amount of ribs the belt has, more ribs more force. Most Bobcats have a pointer on the tensioner that will point to say 1:00 when no tenstion is applied and 3:00 when bottomed out. 2:00 is a good place to start. Again just my .02 worth.
based off recommendations of checking the belt, it sounds like the pump would be belt driven on a 2015. a friend of mine seems to think that a machine this new is a direct drive pump. bobcat has the belt in stock, it seems pretty straight forward to swap it out, i may just change the belt regardless.
$60 belt, 20 min time. back up and running. thanks you all for input.
