schaeff transmission problems

Hi have a 1985 schaeff skb800 backhoe the hydrostatic transmission doesn't completely stop her as she keeps creeping on,to stop her completely you have to shift shuttle into opposite direction then into neutral to stop.also when moving of and selecting the direction you have to use high revs then she lurches quickly which makes it difficult to use the front forks when loading stuff. Anyone have experience of this type of problems thanks

Hi I have a Schaeff hml 31 I have lost drive in reverse it goes forwards ok. Before it stopped going backwards it also would not stop in neutral and would creep in the direction it was driving. Anyone got any advice please.

Not familiar with this machine, what brand pumps does it have?

It has Bosh Rexroth pumps / motors

Lots of possibles, does it have hydraulic or electric joysticks? Could be an issue with the controls, the displacement controller on the pump, etc. Just ran across a Sauer-Danfoss pump that half the centering mechanism had broken off internally and jammed up the swash plate linkage, it would only go forward, and wanted to all the time. Might be something similar. Start with the controls first though.

Hi thanks for your last post, had a result, checked the joystick forward / back control and it had power and was working. Next looked at the solenoid, and one was not pushed down fully you could hardly see it was up. But it was I pushed it down and got in the cab pushed joystick back and had travel backwards. What a result, happy day went digging So if anyone has a similar problem then start at the cab controls and work you way to the pump / motors. There is another thread on this fourm that says have a look at the solenoid there are 2 photos as well. Best Regsrds form a happy chap in the UK

You might want to make a note and leave it visible on the ceiling of the cab. You don't think you'll forget something like that, but just wait... I like to use aluminum duct tape, it sticks like crazy and when you write on it with a ball point pen it dents the surface so you can read it unless it gets scratched off.
