It has a 19-501 loader up front, and a 19-551 backhoe assembly on back, and has a 3 cylinder diesel engine. Just a thought here. When looking for a manual if at all possible include S/N it's for, there are many variations of each model with some brands.
Don't forget to look on ebay if you need one quickly. I can vouch for the quality of the repros that are all over ebay. Picked up an owners manual and service manual for the 580C, both are good products.

Hi All, I am working on my 1973 JD 410 Backhoe/Front loader replacing hoses and cylinder seals. I just replaced the outer o-rings on the hydraulic pump and realized the hyd. pump solenoid was not wired to the starter solenoid....time to start reading a manual. MrKomatsu, i have a Lc150-3 i need a readable manual if you got one im having a starting issue with it and mainly nee a wiring diagram. hers what happened , it was being used and when it was shut down and the smelled a strong burning odor and some wires were burnt around the starter, so i pulled the starter and you could tell it was burnt up so i bought a new one well the new one came with a wiring connection connector coming from a small like selliniod that my old starter didnt have on it, any thing that could help or advise to fix this thing would be appreciated.
starter I just bought a new starter and had the same question .if you put a spade connector on your wire to the solenoid. Hook it to the black and white wire it should turn over.
Twisted235 , so i dont have to run a ground wire fron the green out of that connector, just hook a spade to the black and white wire of the connector???
I just hooked up into the bw wire and it worked.i believe the gr wire goes into the nuetral safety circuit but my d21s-3has a different wiring.setup.It sounds like your machine has the same problem as mine.The starter switch or relay is staying on I am also installing a battery disconnect switch that can be reachedfrom the seat in case it happens again.

Just got a Case 580K that had a dud starter, replaced it and hooked everything up, now when I connect the battery it cranks over instantly So I removed the panel that the ignition switch was in and all the wires fell apart, Looking for either a manual or a diagram. Please and thanks

billfjr, I don't have a service manual for your machine, I do however have access to "JCB Service Parts Pro", which is an electronic parts look up program. If you pm me your serial number I can get you parts diagrams. Unfortunately there is no way to export all the parts diagrams for a particular machine all at once, so it would be on a "as needed" basis.

NOBODY has a shop manual for a '65 Case 530 CK with the 188 diesel? Make sure to post this in the backhoe section. Folks there can probably assist in fixing your charging system. Most all charging systems and tachs are the same. Might be your alternator needs repaired because the tach gets its signal from the ALT

Hello, everyone, I am in need of a repair manual for the Powershift transmission in my Ford. It is a Clark 12. HR28300 .1, ser.# 31197 R4D9. All I can find so far has the suction filter not on the drain plug. Problem=no charge pump pressure on start up as the pump is not primed. It seems to be draining back when shut down for an hour or more. It acts as if the pressure regulater valve is hung open. Thanks for any help.

Wanted to give a shout out to hosspuller for providing me enough pages to help me troubleshoot my issue. Background - My father in-law and I worked on this. Neither of us are mechanics by trade. Between the two of us we have a general understanding of things, can read and follow directions. Issue - when I turned the key, it would click but not crank the starter. We were not afraid to take this on. We jumped out the starter relay and the machine started. We were confident that it was the starter relay and I purchased a new one on eBay. After removing the old relay - one wire off to one wire on the new relay I had nothing, not even a click. That should have been the first clue, more on that later... At this point we were getting frustrated and decided it was time for some google-foo. I found this post HeavyEquipmentForums ! in the forum. Upon reading this I got worried and thought the worst, critters chewed the wiring harness. I decided I really needed to get my hands on the TM1419 manual for wiring schematics. After posting a request and receiving the starting circuit pages from hosspuller, we set out to test each stop along the starting circuit. Each step had passed the test, even the starter relay. Only problem was the starter relay would not do its job?? We decided to take the starter relay off and bench test it. The old unit and the new unit lined up side by side. We added power and ground to the old unit and it popped off but we could not get continuity between the two posts. The old one was clearly broken. We set up the new relay the same exact way and nothing happened. At this point we were totally getting frustrated and out of chance we removed the ground from the peg and put it on the back of the relay and it popped! OK - so we thought there might be a grounding issue. We went back to the tractor, installed it and ran a ground wire straight from the battery to test this - nothing. At this point it was time for some turkey and we called it a day. I could not stop thinking about how these two parts are exactly the same but not operating the same. The next morning I removed all of the wires on the starter relay and ran positive and negative leads directly from the battery. I clipped the negative to what should be the positive and touched the positive to what should be the negative and the relay clicked. Holy crap! The new relay was not OEM and the wiring was the exact opposite as the original part. After finagling the wiring harness a little I got it hooked up and I'm back in business. After looking back I should I known immediately when I switched out wire for wire I had an issue, could have saved a ton of time. On a good note I will say that it was a great learning experience and good bonding time with my father in-law. This may have been a no brainer for most folks but I figured I would post my trials and tribulations anyway.

The issue I hope to tackle is the locomotion... It is a hydro transmission. You know the possibilities: cavitation, plugged ports, plugged filters, poor linkage adjustment, bad pump, low oil? ISO manual and parts book! All the best, B Oh, the linkage is for sure a problem as shown in this pic where the driver had the linkages lock, he said under the brake, and it almost drove off the far end of the trailer. It travels reverse better than forward.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I don't think I have the privledge's yet to pm. I did get a followup e-mail from Jensales assuring me that the manual was as good as any I would find and that their disclaimer was overdue to be removed. The e-mail said previous versions did not contain clear pictures. I've looked through the hard copy I received and it appears complete. It still could benefit from a good index but that may not be Jensales fault. Since purchasing the online and hard copy from them I have found out that my dealer can provide a hardcopy for about $250.00....much less than I thought it was going to be from the dealer.

580 Super K 4 wheel drive I am a new owner of a 1992 Super K. The 4X4 was working fine until I put the machine in 3rd and 4th gear. I only use the machine for an extensive landscaping project that will take 6 months so it was the first time I put it in any gear other then 1st or 2nd. I just wanted to make sure they were working but when I put the machine back in 2nd to continue the project the 4X4 has not worked since. The 4X4 shifter still works fine and I slid under it to make sure the linkage was not bent and all is fine. With the machine in the air I can see the front drive shaft turning and the wheels turn, but I can stop them with one hand. Not sure what to do next? I didn't notice any solenoid or switch so I assume it is all mechanical and if the drive shaft is turning the wheels should turn. Any insight would be appreciated.

Leaky backhoe here, Looking for wiring diagram for a 1979 Case 580D Backhoe. I think the yr is correct. Anything and everything. Solenoid clicks and that's it. Battery good, Solenoid good, Starter good. Borrowed it to a friend a few yrs back and he broke the key off in the ignition. It has had starting problems and flickering lights ever since. Finally wont start. Luckily it died in my shed after the 1st snowstorm. When I took the dashboard off I realized he snipped off wires and basically did a rig job. My goal is to get it to start again and have working lights. A bonus would be to trace every wire and and find out what the snipped ones just hanging around are for. any help would be appreciated. I must say I love reading on this site and im learning on the go. Im mechanically good with cars but my weakness is understanding electrical systems. Im thinking the ignition switch is hooked up incorrect to start. Thanks

This is a good idea,but there's gotta be a better way. Maybe make a sticky at the very top of this list to act as an index, with maybe the manual the guy wants followed by his forum name. On the next entry would be a similar list with people who have manuals to trade. Or, maybe even better, set up a Dropbox page that we all have the login to and everyone with manuals load up what they have. Nothing too crazy, but I've got maybe 30 manuals I could upload. We would have to create some sort of organization and possibly naming convention. Wouldn't that be better? Just shop for the manual you want, and ask here for one that's not up?

Just for fun and future reference I selected the Cat torque spec's and it worked fine and gives all kinds of standard torques on various things even hose clamps!

Have not dealt with him, but this might be the answer. Appears to have most every manual on the planet and post only "I have it write me" or he wants any manual another indicates they have. He/she could be straight up don't know, and is located in Russia. In any case if it is straight up their building a large manual shopping center, get for free and sale to others, nothing wrong with that.

As for your CAT 420D, I am only finding the maintenance intervals part of the operation & maintenance manual. Unfortunately it is only for FDP18400-Up. And it is just 47 pages. Parts nr SEBU7821-04 Love this site though!! I expect to get access to a lot of groovy stuff here if I hang on in here.
Looks like SIS has everything. If there is any thing in particular you need, like a wiring schematic I could send that to you. Saving everything would probably kill the Inernet! But if there was something you really need let me know, "Start a conversation" and give me the S/N you posted above. Wiring schematic does give lots of info like the pressures and temps that senders work at and what the various error codes refer to.

That seems strange. I can scroll it just like any .pdf document. But, I use Adobe Acrobat Pro and it has a search capability in the menu on the left column. Does your.pdf viewer has a search function also ? I am posting a screen shot of what Adobe looks like with the search menu up.

hey your backhoe looks something like mine I have a 1980 580 C my wiring is all cut up on this from the alt back to the dash the guy that had it cut and clip wires every where is there any chance you might be able to take pics of yours so I can rewire mine and get power back to my dash I have no gauges no cut out nothings he bypass everything just got a key switch to start it and a shut off ole backhoe is strong machine done a lot of work to it since I got it have learn a lot about backhoe let me tell ya but has been fun though if I can get the wiring up and running i'll be in high cotton got brakes now and all cylinder leaks fixed

You need TM1608 to start with. They are pricey, even used ones. I think a set of six different tm manuals are needed for a John Deere 310se to cover all aspects of the machine in detail.

Has anyone order the manuals on eBay that they send out on a flash drive? I’m needing the service/repair manual for a 312c and I’m finding several in the $70 range. I don’t mind spending it but I don’t want to send the money and get ripped off.
I bought them for my Cat 426. It was not really worth it. They were just PDFs of some things from Cat's SIS. The resolution was not great so the photos were hard to see and it was incomplete. I got what I paid for but it was not what I was hoping for. If you are computer literate there is a way to put SIS on a PC.

Cat SIS is their service information system. Yes it is supposed to be subscription based. There are some non-kosher workarounds.
What you will probably get is from someone who may have bought a manual then has scanned in every page. That is on the good side. At best its a good scan, at worst its a bad scan. Their ripping the manufacture off
SIS is subscription based, have not heard that one I signed up with my LLC years ago, but the LLC has nothing to do with equipment.
Like I said it is not kosher but it is out there and it works.

I just found a site that contains manuals for a wide variety of equipment, and I see some tractor and other heavy equipment manuals on the site. The site will allow you to download manuals for free as long as you upload some of your manuals. If you do not have manuals to download, then you have to pay for the download. Hey guys sorry about omitting pertinent information, just trying to deal with this equipment issue from overseas and I'm getting inputs from folks that are not mechanics. S/N is as follows: 1DW724KZEBE636839, 2013 JD 724K, 4CYD Loader. Problem I got told is they are unable to shift out of park, which sounds like park brake release solenoid. I have an electronic TM of a 724J model, not the K model (17 Nov 03). I am looking at the JD Service Advisor platform (both online and scan tool), since we have multiple JD units at different sites. JD has been very reluctant to provide diagnostic and repair information to their equipment end users. And a lot of scammers luring you to buy very sub-par repair manuals which are just poor copy/paste documents put together by them.

Hello Tinkerer, thanks for your input. I already went there too but the website is not JD legit. It's someone giving you access to downloads that you cannot evaluate until after you paid and then you are in their hook. If you click on their "about" link or "contact" there's no information. That gives me the jitters. John Deere has their Technical Information section bit these manuals are over $500. At least for the Test & Diagnostic manual. Either on a CD or in print form. That price point may be OK for a service facility with several of these machines. But for someone like me just using my backhoe kind of for a hobby it is quite a steep amount to pay.
I should have looked closer at that website. It is in Russia. Sorry The web-designer did a good job of faking the JD site.
Hello Tinkerer, No worries. I also felt initially it was a legit JD website. They are all over the place with these fake offers. I am so disappointed with the one I purchased from A++Manuals. The same scheme. They advertise these manuals by part number and all. But what you get is a watered down document with very poor quality pictures and lacking most of the important information. Then, there's no one to complain to. No address, no phone number and their term & conditions say no returns. They got me in a weak moment on a Monday morning. I was eager to do stuff on my TLB and wanted information.
OEM manuals are expense, but, they are a good investment if anyone plans on doing their own work. I equate them much like a replacement part. A necessary expense. TM10849 is available on eBay in like new condition for $249.00. The seller has over a 1000 positive ratings. I would buy it if I were needing one.
Hi everyone. Does anyone have a service manual and parts manual for a bobcat 3400D? S/N is: AJNU12012 It stopped going into gear while its running. I lowered the idle and it helped but if I go back any further it'll kill the engine.
You're right. I may have to bite the bullet and just think of it like that. On the brighter side, any repairs I may be able to perform myself and outside a JD dealer will pay more than the cost of the book in savings. Again, this is not my livelihood. It's a hobby like having a sports boat (way more demanding in $$$) or other stuff. Only that the TLB is like a Swiss army knife and you get to do useful things with it. ☺️

Would it be better to get the printed manual or the download PDF and is this something that is better to buy directly from ford/new holland or are the ebay versions just as good for the 555E backhoe?
It is the users preference. Printed manuals are very portable and can be available to look at when working on a machine. Pdf versions are portable to, especially if you have a laptop computer. If you have a printer set up you could print any part or all of a manual.
Don't know if I or anyone else ever responded to you, I've been "On a break" from HEF for a while. This should be the correct pump, travel motor, and final parts sheets for your machine.

The 580K was produced in two completely different configurations. The first 580k's were sometimes and mistakenly called series 1. They are referred to as a 580K. The model of the 580K is referred to as a 580k series III (3). The Operators Manual and Service Manual is completely different for the two of them.

There are many different variants of the 416 and probably a similar number of Parts/Service Manual options. To identify the appropriate ones requires the machine Serial Number.
In your case if the S/N is the one in your signature line then the Service Manual is SENR1200 and the Parts Manual is SEBP2886

You need to search for Cat Publication reference SENR7925. Here's one on eBay . A new one is priced at $500 BTW.
I did get the hardcover but wasn’t sure if the pdf version was floating around. PDF can be handy in a pinch although I prefer the book.

You really need these parts by machine Serial number. As far as I can tell the engine belongs to machine S/N KMW00223. Please confirm and give a bit more detail exactly what you mean by "oil seals".
#VKMW00223 confirmed. The oil seals I mean to address are on the Turbo oil inlet line(banjo) and oil outlet(tube) I hope that makes more sense, Thank you sir

The Service Manual is SENR3800 which includes the /Operation & Maintenance. AFAIK genuine OEM manuals are only available in paper or CD, not downloads. See this one on eBay . New I imagine it would be close to $1000. Parts Manual is SEBP1775. Again available in paper or CD but can be downloaded from HERE by putting SEBP1775 in the box and click Search.

I do. You will need a special pin that is inserted in the engine block to set the pump timing. Line #5 has the part number.

The machine Serial Number is 5PC03498. Your machine was actually built in January 1987 The applicable Service Manual is Caterpillar Publication reference SENR3160. You should find a used one on the usual internet marketplaces. Be aware that this manual is priced at $1,250 new, so even second-hand copies are not going to be cheap. Try this one on eBay

Yes, I believe I am looking for the service & repair manual as I'm looking to pull and replace the hydraulic pump coupler and I don't think that's covered in the operation and maintenance manual unfortunately. It's probably a job I can figure out but having never pulled the pump before I figured it might be worth getting the actual service manual. I couldn't find the full one in the Cat Publication system, so thank you for that reference. I will see if I can find a paper copy used or something.
