my next project is removing the haulback drum on this skagit
what are you using a yarder for in indiana? quarry?
yes quarry work, now if icould only find the bucket they lost 7 years ago...........
A Skagit with a Sauerman drag bucket is the best way to mine deep and wide deposits. They beat a dragline hands down. Your reach is only limited by how much cable you can fit on the drum.
I’ve never been around a drag bucket/yarder, and don’t know much about them, which is why the comment piqued my interest. But I’m curious what it is about the machine/design that makes it better than a dragline for certain types of deposits (deep or wide)? From my basic understanding they’re primarily suited for aggregate mining where in-situ materials are underwater, or in some cases for salvaging parted coal seams that are below water table. Is that correct? I’d be interested to know more about their application if you wouldn’t mind elaborating on it.
more skagit pics took haulback brake and support off gear is shot,a new one isnt offered,5 weeks to repair this one so i guess we are gonna run it for now.
Looks like a job for some lo-hy welding rod!
