When checking out a used skid steer, what is best method of making sure the driveline & hydraulics are in good working condition?
For the loader bucket you should look at all of the pins and bushings. If you are a mechanic or have a good mechanic have them do a flow test on the pump to see the flow. Check with your local dealer for GPM specs. As for the drive train. Check the hubs to see if you can find any play in them. They should be tight with little to no in/out play. If you really wanted to look close you could pull the covers on the chain cases and inspect the chains. Fluid should be clean and not milky. Could get the stretch specs for the drive chains. JJ
