The steering cylinders on this thing leak but are welded shut and can’t be rebuilt without cutting cylinder open and re-welding it. Anyone have a suggestion or some other part that could be retrofitted?
Are you sure? I have not worked on a 6000M specifically but if it has the cylinder in the center with the rod coming out of each side one end can be taken apart and the rod/piston assembly can be removed. You have to replace the pressure seal and wiper in the end of the tube that stays in the tractor and the gland comes off the rod and you repack it. Can you post pictures of the ends of the cylinder? Then we can be more certain of what you have.
It's not a center mount. So-I can't see the end where the rod comes out. Could you clean it up some and take a picture? Also- feel on the back side of the tube about 3/4-1 inch back from the end and see if there's a notch there. Just trying to be sure.
