I run 2 #10 guage wires from the battery. Put a circuit breaker (25 -30 amp) right at the battery. At the truck bed I put an Anderson connector so I can quick connect or use the connection for other stuff (all my skid tanks are 12 volt pumps at the house with battery back-up, pull-up, plug in and keep the battery for the pumps charged that way).
